UA-EACC Presents The War and Treaty

UA-EACC will present The War and Treaty on Saturday, March 14th at 7:30 p.m. at the UA-EACC Fine Arts Center in Forrest City. Tickets go on sale Monday, January 26th and will be available to purchase online at EACC.edu or by calling 870-633-4480, ext. 352.

Founded in 2014 by the husband-and-wife duo Michael Trotter Jr. and Tanya Trotter, The War And Treaty has emerged as one of the most electrifying new acts in American music. They were nominated for the Best New Artist and Best American Roots Song at the 2024 GRAMMY Awards, and were also nominated for Duo of the Year at the CMA Awards two years in a row and for Vocal Duo of the Year at the ACM Awards. They have won two Americana Music Awards (both for Duo/Group of the Year) and have received additional nominations and recognition from CMT Music Awards, Folk Alliance International, People's Choice Country Awards, as well as from the Country Music Hall of Fame, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, and the Grand Ole Opry.

Since first lighting up the world with their glorious fusion of country and soul, The War and Treaty have steadily built a legacy as one of the most iconic husband-and-wife duos in music history. They bring together elements of soul, R&B, gospel, southern rock, and Americana - a combination that is equally tailor-made for larger-than-life live performances and more intimate listening experiences.

The Michigan-based couple released their first album, Healing Tide, in 2018. Michael is a wounded warrior who found his voice while serving in Iraq when he was pulled from the frontlines to write songs for the fallen, and Tanya is a lifelong artist, drawn to singing's power to take another's pain away.

In the last few years alone, The War and Treaty's phenomenal talent and daring originality have led to major milestones including performing at stadiums as support for superstars like the Rolling Stones and Zach Bryan. On their newest album Plus One, the duo double's down on the powerful sense of togetherness that's always fueled their music, offering 18 life-affirming songs aimed at providing a shared experience of hope, healing, and much-needed joy.

"At a time when human connection is being threatened by AI and all the division happening in our country, I think a lot of us are thirsting to really connect with others," says Michael Trotter. "We want our live show to be a place where you can be around other likeminded people, where we can all get together and let the love wash over all the pain we've experienced. And if you can, we hope everyone will bring a plus one-someone who needs to hear what we're saying, so that we can all grow together and extend that spirit of love as far as it can go."

Tickets for The War and Treaty are $39 and will be available to purchase online at EACC.edu, by calling 870-633-4480, ext. 352, or in person at the Fine Arts Center Ticket Office. Spring Series subscription packages are still available and save 20%. The UA-EACC Fine Arts Center is located at 1700 Newcastle Road in Forrest City, just off Interstate 40.
