EACC's LPN program ranked Top 10

EACC's Practical Nursing program has been ranked as one of the top 10 LPN programs in the country.

Nurse Journal recently released the list of best Licensed Practical Nursing programs, and East Arkansas Community College was included along with nine other colleges located in areas throughout the United States.

For rankings, Nurse Journal uses a unique, student-centered data-driven methodology based on metrics of academic quality, affordability, reputation, and program offerings.  The approach assesses each nursing school's overall merit, incorporating up-to-date, reputable data into a formula to provide useful resources for prospective nursing students.

According to Nurse Journal, they built their methodology around the metrics they believe matter most to students assessing prospective nursing schools.  "By prioritizing factors like affordability and quality, we center the student experience and the value of a nursing program," said a representative.  The journal also said that their methodology ensures that the rankings remain free of editorial influence and nursing programs are not allowed to pay for a spot on the list or a higher ranking.

The Nurse Journal uses current available datasets from the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS) and College Navigator, which are both hosted by the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES).  As part of the Institute of Education Sciences, the research and evaluation arm of the U.S. Department of Education, NCES collects and analyzes education data in the United States. This organization reports complete statistics on American colleges and universities, including nursing schools.

EACC's Licensed Practical Nursing program prepares practical nurses who are competent to function as members of the health care team in acute care settings, long-term care facilities, and community clinics.  Students can complete EACC's LPN program in less than a year and the current NCLEX pass rate is 100%.
