EACC Presents Crystal Gayle

EACC Presents Crystal Gayle

EACC will present the award-winning country music icon and Grand Ole Opry member, Crystal Gayle, on Saturday, October 16th at 7:30 p.m. in the EACC Fine Arts Center.  Tickets go on sale Tuesday, September 7th at 10:00 a.m.

GRAMMY® winning country music singer and Grand Ole Opry member, Crystal Gayle is an award-winning music icon whose reign in the music business includes twenty #1 country hits and six gold certified albums.  She was the first female artist in country music history to reach platinum sales with her album, We Must Believe in Magic

Crystal Gayle became a Grammy® Award Winner for "Best Female Vocal Performance" for her hit "Don't it Make My Brown Eyes Blue." She was awarded the Country Music Association's "Female Vocalist of the Year" and Academy of Country Music's "Top Female Vocalist" numerous times, and she was the recipient of three American Music Awards including "Favorite Female Artist."

Crystal was awarded with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and was recognized with a Cliffie Stone Pioneer Award for her lifetime achievements in country music.  Renowned for the classic recording of her timeless signature song, "Don't It Make My Brown Eyes Blue," Crystal's other multi-format hits include "You've Been Talking In Your Sleep," "When I Dream," "Half the Way," her duet with Eddy Rabbit, "Just You and I," and more.

She found great personal satisfaction in recording two inspirational albums.  The GRAMMY® nominated Someday was comprised of mostly original spiritual songs, and He is Beautiful contains mostly traditional hymns.  Her efforts and contributions led to her induction into the Christian Music Hall of Fame in 2009.

In addition, Crystal has contributed songs to three GRAMMY® winning children's albums, Sesame Country, Here Comes the Rainbow, and Songs from the Neighborhood - The Music of Mr. Rogers.  Crystal also recorded her first solo children's album, In My Arms, a collection of lullabies that perfectly suits her warm vocals.

Also famous for her nearly floor-length hair, she followed in the footsteps of her older sister and country music legend Loretta Lynn.  Crystal has made many contributions to charity and community involvement.  She was recognized as the recipient of the Waterford Crystal "Celebration of Light" award for her many charitable activities. She also served as co-host of the Arthritis Foundation Telethon, and recorded the theme song for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Tickets for Crystal Gayle's performance are $44 and are available online, by calling 870-633-4480, ext. 352, or in person at the Fine Arts Center Ticket Office.  Season subscription packages are available and save 20%.  The EACC Fine Arts Center is located at 1700 Newcastle Road in Forrest City, just off Interstate 40.
