EACC Hosts Transcript Transformation Event

Don't let the past define your future!  East Arkansas Community College will host a special "Transcript Transformation" event on Thursday, January 9th.  The event will be held in the Hodges Student Services Complex on the Forrest City campus from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.

The "Transcript Transformation" event will provide an opportunity for former students with past transcripts to bring them to be evaluated by EACC Student Success Specialists.  Many times, past courses can be counted in various ways for credit, and EACC's Student Success Specialists want to help students complete their degree or certificate regardless of past performance.  The event will also offer an opportunity for potential students to evaluate whether some of their relative professional training and experience can be counted for college credit.

Students with prior transcripts are encouraged to bring all transcripts to the event for a transfer credit evaluation. According to the National Student Clearinghouse Research Center, in December 2018, 288,594 Arkansans had taken some college courses, but did not graduate with a degree. As part of the nationwide initiative, Degrees When Due, sponsored by The Institute of Higher Education Policy and supported by the Arkansas Department of Higher Education, EACC is participating in the national initiative to build capacity on campuses to improve degree completion for underserved populations through reverse transfer and stop-out re-engagement.

Do you know someone with some college and no degree?  The "Transcript Transformation" event can help them get back on track to complete their degree.  For more information about the event, contact the Errin James, EACC's Director of Advising at 870-633-4480, ext. 252.
