Community Ed and Workforce Development Spring Schedule Announced

The Community Education and Workforce Development programs at East Arkansas Community College have announced the Spring Schedule of classes for students of every age.  Click HERE for the schedule.

The schedule offers a wide variety of unique Personal Interest & Senior Sage (students aged 50+) classes for adults including the following Art, Equine, Technology, Fitness and other specialty classes: Western Riding Techniques II, Basic Equine Principles & Techniques, Trail Riding, Conditioning for Horse and Rider, Advanced Fine Arts Photography, Decorative Welding, Jewelry Making, Painting, Photoshop, Pottery, Basic Design, Introduction to Computers, Microsoft Excel, Quickbooks, Aerobics: Step Fitness Fusion, Yoga, Conditioning, Weightlifting, Zumba, Ballroom Dancing, Line Dancing, Self Defense, Good Eats, Intermediate Sign Language, Boater Education Course, AR Concealed Carry Course, AR Advanced Concealed Carry Course, College Singers, and more.     

Travelers will enjoy the annual African American Heritage Tour to the National Civil Rights Museum in Memphis, Tennessee.  The museum is located at the Lorraine Motel, where Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was assassinated.  While retaining its most popular exhibits, the museum features 260 artifacts, more than 40 new films, interactive media and external listening posts that guide visitors through five centuries of history.  The emotionally stirring exhibits from the beginning of the resistance during slavery, through the Civil War and Reconstruction, the rise of Jim Crow, and the seminal events of the late twentieth century that inspired people around the world to stand up for equality chronicle the history of the civil rights struggle in America.  The day trip will feature a visit to National Civil Rights Museum, lunch, and transportation.  The deadline for registration is Friday, January 25th.  

The Workforce Development schedule for Professional Development classes includes: Real Estate Continuing Education, Healthcare Provider CPR, EMT CEU Training course, and the Paramedic CEU Training course.

The Kids on Campus programs include:  Gymnastics (Ages 3+), Youth Horseback Riding, and Slammin’ Jammin’ Guitar Lessons.

Pre-registration is required for all classes and events. For more information about classes, fees, and their locations please call 870-633-4480 ext. 333. Tuition waivers are available for credit classes for students aged 50+.
