Foundation's Eleanor B. and Harry E. Beasley Scholarship Awarded

Miranda Sims of Forrest City, Arkansas has been awarded the EACC Foundation’s Eleanor B. and Harry E. Beasley Scholarship for the fall 2017 semester.

Sims is currently enrolled in the Nursing program at EACC.  After graduating from EACC with an Associate of Applied Science in Nursing, she plans to continue her education at Arkansas State University in the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program and eventually become a Certified Nurse Midwife.  “I am so thankful to be selected for this scholarship,” said Sims.  “I am grateful to the Beasley family for assisting as I continue my education,” she added.

The Beasley Scholarship was established in honor of Eleanor B. Beasley, longtime Board of Trustees member at EACC and her husband Harry E. Beasley. Their family established this endowed scholarship in 2004 to keep alive the love of education their parents exhibited throughout their lives. Dedicated to assisting students at EACC who graduated from an accredited high school in St. Francis County, this scholarship is awarded to a full-time sophomore student with a minimum 3.00 GPA.
