East Arkansas Community College will present the iconic Australian pop/rock duo, Air Supply, on Saturday, April 4th at 7:30 p.m. in the EACC Fine Arts Center. Tickets for Air Supply's Lost In Love Experience tour go on sale Monday, February 17th at 10:00 a.m.
The trademark sound of Russell Hitchcock's soaring tenor voice and Graham Russell's simple yet majestic songs created a unique sound that would forever be known as Air Supply. With mega hits like "All Out of Love," "Making Love Out of Nothing At All," "Lost in Love," "The One That You Love," "Sweet Dreams," "Even the Nights Are Better," "Every Woman in the World," and more, their live shows have solidified Air Supply as a permanent force in modern music.
With a career spanning over four decades, Graham Russell and Russell Hitchcock first met in 1975 during rehearsals for "Jesus Christ Superstar" in Sydney, Australia and became instant friends with their common love for the Beatles and, of course, singing. In 1980, "Lost in Love" became the fastest selling single in the world, leaping to the top of all of the charts, and was named Song of the Year. Their hits have earned platinum and gold status worldwide, achieved multi-million plays on the radio, reached top single status, and sold more than 30 million copies.
In May 2010, Air Supply's long-awaited album, "Mumbo Jumbo" was released and the album's single "Dance with Me," earned Air Supply a prominent feature article in Billboard Magazine. Composer and vocalist Graham Russell was honored with a BMI Million-Air Certificate recognizing 3 million performances of the duo's hit "All Out of Love," and in 2013, the duo was inducted in to the Australian Recording Industry Association's Hall of Fame. After over 40 years in the music industry, these talented artists show no signs of slowing down and they continue to delight audiences all over the world.
Tickets for Air Supply's Lost in Love Experience tour are $39 and will be available online, by calling 870-633-4480, ext. 352, or in person at the Fine Arts Center Ticket Office. The EACC Fine Arts Center is located at 1700 Newcastle Road in Forrest City, just off Interstate 40.
