Welcome to the Career Pathways Initiative at East Arkansas Community College. The Career Pathways Program offers assistance to families who have dependent children under the age of 21, and who are in need of economic assistance.
Career Pathways Mission
The Career Pathways Initiative recognizes the importance of meeting the needs of our students, area businesses and industries, and is dedicated to the implementation of learning experiences that will strengthen the employability skill levels of our area workforce.
Key Program Features:

Assist parents so that they can be successful in college and competitive in the job market.

Assist parents in finding their career pathway, based on interests.

Assist parents in earning a certificate or degree.

Provide career counseling.

Assist parents in gaining access to critical student support services.

Provide continuous support from program orientation through job placement.

Administer TABE assessment, Arkansas College and Career Planning System (KUDER), and Compass Diagnostics.
Criteria for Eligibility
Have a child under 21 years of age, living in the home and receiving benefits through DHS, or family income must be below the 250% Federal Poverty Guidelines.
Career Pathways Registration Process
- Application
- Proof of eligibility for Career Pathways Program(see list below)
- Interview
- Apply for Financial Aid (by completing FAFSA form)
- Attend Career Pathways Orientation
- Tests/assessments (if applicable)
- Receive written verification of acceptance into the program
Applicants MUST provide the following documents to determine eligibility:
- Social Security card
- Arkansas Driver’s License
- Child(ren)’s Social Security Card
- Child(ren)’s ARKids Card or Medicaid Card
- Child(ren)’s Birth Certificate
OR
- IRS 1040 income tax return
