Continuing Education Coordinator

East Arkansas Community College is accepting applications for a continuing education coordinator.  The coordinator will work directly with the Director of Continuing Education and will be responsible for the facilitation of continuing education programs, events and related activities including: coordinating logistics prior to and during continuing education events which include working with caterers, suppliers and other vendors to coordinate arrangements for events, programs and classes; arranging for and scheduling facilities and/or  meeting rooms and providing instructional materials and equipment for programs; and overseeing the day-to-day operations of the adventure training center which include working as a facilitator, scheduling additional facilitators and maintaining equipment logs. The coordinator will be responsible for maintaining the continuing education database by inputting information, compiling and printing reports, creating brochures, certificates and promotional materials.

The education/experience requirements:  Bachelor’s degree is required; a Master’s degree and work experience preferred. Experience may be substituted for Master’s degree.

Required skills and abilities: working knowledge of Microsoft Office, good attention to detail, excellent organizational, telephone, and computer skills, and good written and verbal skills.

Accountant

East Arkansas Community College is seeking applicants for an accountant position.  The job responsibilities include:  maintaining a student billing and receivable system, preparing various financial reports, handling collection of student’s accounts, coordinating financial aid transactions, posting entries to accounts receivable, and reconciling bank statements.  The minimum educational requirements are:  a Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in accounting; plus one year of experience in accounting or a related field.

Apprentice Tradesman

East Arkansas Community College is advertising for an apprentice tradesman. The candidate selected will work under the supervision of the plant maintenance supervisor and will be responsible for performing and assisting in a variety of skilled trades. The potential duties include: installing electrical wiring, plumbing assignments, painting interior and exterior structures, and other related tasks assigned by the supervisor. While the candidate may not possess all the skills noted, a good working knowledge of those would be desirable. The education/experience requirements are:

Education and/or experience requirements: Sufficient education or training to read and write; plus one year of experience in the trade areas.

Information Technology Program Specialist

East Arkansas Community College is seeking applicants for an Information Technology Program Specialist. The IT program specialist will be directly involved in the IT and electronics objectives of the Title III, Strengthening Technical Education grant. Responsibilities include teaching, evaluating, revising the IT and electronics curriculum, and maintaining current technology. The IT specialist will work with area business and industries to recruit students and promote the program.

Educational and experience requirements: a bachelor’s degree with professional certification in Microsoft systems administration, Cisco Networking, or other IT certification. Industry programming experience using Java/Visual Basic or other job related education and/or experience may be substituted for part of these requirements. A master’s degree is preferred.

Director of Medical Assisting Technology Program

The job responsibilities include organizing and administering the program, developing curriculum, evaluating, instructing and counseling students, and promoting the program. Education and experience requirements: an associate’s degree in the field and instruction in educational theory or techniques, certification in Medical Assisting Technology by a nationally accredited credentialing organization, (American Association of Medical Assistants or American Medical Technologists), and 40 hours of experience in an ambulatory health care setting performing or observing administrative and clinical procedures of medical assisting.
