April 30, 2008 East Arkansas Community College-Forrest City East Arkansas Community College will offer a Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers class on May 15, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in room B129 in the Learning Resource Center on the EACC campus. The BLS Healthcare Provider Course teaches CPR skills for helping victims of all ages (including performing ventilation with a barrier device, a bag-mask device, and oxygen); use of an automated external defibrillator (AED); and relief of foreign-body airway obstruction (FBAO). This course is intended for participants who provide health care to patients in a wide variety of settings, including physicians, nurses, paramedics, emergency medical technicians, respiratory therapists, physical and occupational therapists, physician's assistants, medical or nursing students in training, aides, medical or nursing assistants, police officers, and other allied health personnel. Enrollment is limited and pre-registration is required.
