EACC offers many opportunities for students to participate in music courses and activities.

All students regardless of major are welcome to enroll in College Singers. This group of singers including full and part-time students as well as EACC staff and faculty members performs public concerts every semester. The repertory includes music from various eras and genre. There’s something for everyone’s taste. The teamwork ethic in College Singers provides an atmosphere of camaraderie and accomplishment. This group represents EACC at various outreach functions. Scholarships are available for section leaders by audition. College Singers is directed by Ruth Ann Vowan, full-time music faculty member.

Private individual applied voice and piano lessons are available for one or two credit hours. Each semester the applied students perform in a recital as fulfillment of exam requirements. No experience is required and all students are accepted at any level of proficiency. Applied lessons are taught by Ruth Ann Vowan (voice), Linda Carter (piano).

Music Scholarships are available to full-time students majoring in music. Although there is no associate degree offered in music, EACC offers all lower division music courses required for a Bachelor of Music degree or Bachelor of Music Education degree. Scholarship applications are available on this website.

Theatre at EACC is an integral part of the Fine Arts program. Students can participate in at least one theatrical production each semester. It is open to all students, faculty and staff. Students can enroll for up to three hours of credit. Over the years we have produced many fine productions. Some of the past productions include: "To Kill a Mockingbird," "Tartuffe,"" Harvey," and "You Can't Take it With You." Our shows are designed to give the novice a chance to learn about this art form and provide a productive outlet for students just wanting to participate in our program. In addition, students considering a major in theatre can develop their talents while completing their AA degree. We have had several of our former students to continue their education in theatre.

As I always tell my students, "During college one should try a lot of things. . . . Theatre is one of the legal ones!?"

"Cinderella"

"Nunsense"

"To Kill a Mockingbird"

"Pure as the Driven Snow"

"Three Murders and It's Only Monday"
