Music Scholarships

Description of Scholarships
- Full Music Scholarships
  Two music scholarships per semester may be awarded for EACC Degree seeking students. Students must be full-time students (enrolled in 12 credit hours). Each scholarship includes in-county or out-of-county tuition, applied instruction fees, and incidental fees. Students are responsible for purchasing textbooks. Continuation of these scholarships will require a 2.50 cumulative GPA or higher and approval of the scholarship committee. The scholarship may be renewed three semesters. Recipients must participate in an ensemble and be enrolled in required music classes.
- College Singers Section Leader Scholarship
  Four scholarships for up to $150.00 per semester may be awarded. Each scholarship requires participation in College Singers and the enrollment in two or more credit hours of applied instruction. Scholarships cover tuition for College Singers, two hours of applied instruction, applied instruction fees, and incidental fees.
- College Singers Scholarship
  Four scholarships for $50.00 per semester may be awarded. Participation in College Singers is required of recipients. Scholarships cover tuition for College Singers and incidental fees.
Scholarship Application and Award Procedure
- Completion of music scholarship application.
- Audition with a member of the music faculty.
- Selection by scholarship committee with recommendation from Department Chair of Humanities and music faculty.
- Name, social security number, and award amount for each selectee will be forwarded to the Director of Financial Aid.
- Continuing students - Music Faculty will forward name, social security number, and award amount for each student prior to the first day of classes to the Director of Financial Aid.
Scholarship Selection Criteria
- Performance: Music applicant must perform two selections of his/her choice. Vocalists must provide accompaniment.
- Musical Experience: high school or post-secondary performing experience in a solo or group setting.
