OnLine Databases

The online databases at EACC are a powerful resource for meeting your research needs. These resources can be used to fulfill term paper requirements, class projects, to find sources for speeches, or other informational needs. There are handouts at the library that will step you through using these databases. Also, patrons can use these databases from off-campus, if they are a registered student at EACC. Students should also come to the library and make sure they have an ID number in our system. If you need off-campus login information, or if you need assistance in using the databases, please see a library staff member.

  • Proquest - ProQuest® provides convenient search options to meet your informational needs. With just a few clicks on a computer screen, patrons have access to one of the largest collections of information, including summaries of articles from thousands of publications, with many in full text, full image format. Student off-campus login information is available at the Library Reference Desk.

  • Grolier OnLine - This databases is a general encyclopedia that includes maps, graphs and charts. • Gale Health Reference Center - This provides access to the Gale Health Reference Center Academic database and the Gale Health and Wellness Resource Center. These databases give access to medical information from more technical sources. This may be of particular interest for students in medical fields or others with research needs in the medical fields. Note to students accessing Gale from off campus computers: If you are behind a firewall you will have to disable it to log into the database. Specific login information is available from the Library Desk.

  • Discovering Collection - This database provides in-depth reference content for the curriculum areas of Literature, History, Biographies, Science, and Social Studies.

  • EBSCOhost - EBSCOhost® gives access to thousands of publications, with many in full text, full image format. There are seventeen databases within EBSCOhost®. Users can select any combination of these databases, depending upon their research needs. These databases include: Academic Search Elite, Business Source Elite, ERIC, MasterFILE Premier, Health Source - Consumer Edition, Health Source: Nursing/Academic Edition, Clinical Pharmacology, Legal Collection, Middle Search Plus, Funk & Wagnalls New World Encyclopedia, EBSCO Animals, Newspaper Source, Primary Search, TOPIC search, Professional Development Collection, MAS Ultra - School Edition, and Regional Business News.
