Students may use both the Computer Education Center computers and the Learning Center computers to work on papers. 

Equipment and software for the Writing Lab includes: 

  • 12 computers with Word, PowerPoint, PLATO educational software, and 6 of these computers have Internet access.

  • Laser Printer 

  • Internet Access 

Students can get help with papers from courses in communication, psychology, biology, humanities, and many other courses besides English. Students can also receive help with resumes, job applications, scholarships, speeches, presentations, reports or any other writing assignment they are working on. 

We provide writing assistance for all courses. We can help with: 

Review of Assignment 
Discussion of Topics and Research Strategies 
Outlining Skills 
Proofreading Skills 
Vocabulary Improvement 
Internet and E-mail Assistance 
Computer Literacy 

Helpful Hints to make your visit to the Learning Center more productive:

  • Bring your syllabus, textbook, and instructions for assignment(s).

  • Come early; don't wait until the day the assignment is due.

  • Bring a 3.5 floppy disk to save your work on. (Disks are for sale in the bookstore).

  • If you bring your data from home, remember that you must have the same word processing program (Word) or save as a text file or rich text file.
