This program is designed to provide students with the knowledge and experience needed for an entry level job in Environmental Technology.  It emphasizes programmatic understanding of environmental and safety regulations, sampling and analysis procedures, and safety protocols and requirements.  The Environmental Technology program consists of an Associate of Applied Science degree (60 credit hours), a Technical Certificate (34 credit hours), and a Certificate of Proficiency (15 credit hours).  Students graduating through this broad based program will receive training in a variety of different fields including: 
  1. performing laboratory and field tests to monitor environmental resources

  2. determining the presence of contaminants and sources of pollution

  3. collecting samples for testing in abating, controlling, or remediating sources of environmental pollutants

  4. responsiblity for waste management operations

  5. control and management of hazardous materials inventory

  6. regulatory compliance.
