The Department of Business strives to enable individuals to achieve personal and professional goals in business and related fields, which contribute to a well educated and trained workforce.

Areas of Study

ASSOCIATE OF ARTS – AA (TRANSFER)

The Business/Technology Departments offers the Business Core Course Requirements for bachelor’s degree business disciplines.

Business Core Course Requirements:

*Bus 2113 Principles of Accounting I
*Bus 2123 Principles of Accounting II
*Bus 2213 Principles of Macroeconomics
*Bus 2223 Principles of Microeconomics
*Bus 2073 Business Statistics
  Bus 2033 Legal Environment of Business
  Bus 2553 Business Communication

* The above courses must be completed before upper level business courses can be taken for most bachelor’s degree programs.

ASSOCIATE OF APPLIED SCIENCE – AAS

The associate of applied science (A.A.S.) degree provides the student a degree in a chosen major in technical/occupational areas and is designed for students who plan to enter the work force after completion of program requirements.  The Business/Technology Department awards A.A.S. degrees in the following areas:

  • Applied Engineering Technology
  • Computer Information Systems
  • Administrative Office Technology
  • Drafting and Design
  • Industrial Maintenance Technology
  • Electronics

CERTIFICATES

Certificate programs provide the student a concentration in a specific technical/occupational area.  These programs are intended for students who plan to enter the workforce after the completion of the program or who are currently working and want to upgrade their skills.  Hours earned in most certificate program are acceptable toward the associate of applied science degree.
