Forrest City- The East Arkansas Community College Fine Arts Center Gallery will present the art exhibition, Small Works on Paper: 2006-2011 Retrospective, from February 11 – March 30, 2014. The exhibit is sponsored by the Arkansas Arts Council
Created in the late 1980s, the annual Small Works on Paper exhibition showcases artwork no larger than 24 x 24 inches by Arkansas artists who are members of the Arkansas Artist Registry, an online art gallery coordinated by the Arts Council. The selected work is chosen by an out-of-state juror, who also selects pieces for purchase awards. Purchase award winners receive the cash amount equivalent to the value of their selected works. Funded by entry fees, the purchase award pieces become part of the exhibition’s permanent collection.
The Small Works on Paper: 2006-2011 Retrospective exhibit is a collection of 33 outstanding pieces of art by Arkansas artists that were previously featured in the annual Small Works on Paper exhibition between the years of 2006 and 2011. The art will be on display at 10 galleries throughout the state in a year-long touring show.
