EACC’s Drama Department Will Present Don’t Tell Mother in April

The Drama Department at East Arkansas Community College will present the hilarious and fast paced comedy, Don’t Tell Mother on Friday and Saturday, April 18th and 19th. The curtain will rise for two separate showings on Friday, April 18th at 7:00 pm and Saturday, April 19th at 7:00 pm in the EACC Fine Arts Center.
Don’t Tell Mother is the comical story about a bank robbery and mixed up identities. On the evening when timid librarian, Cinnamon Schmidt, and her mother are to entertain her fiancé and his mother at a family dinner, Cinnamon witnesses a bank robbery and arrives home in shock. Federal Agent, Joe Shimko shows up to question Cinnamon and mistakenly questions Cinnamon’s next door neighbor. As the comedy proceeds, everything and everyone becomes more mixed up and confused as Cinnamon tries to keep her mother from finding out that she was a witness to the robbery. This fast paced comedy, full of funny confusion, vicious vacuum cleaners, money, and lots of laughter, will keep the audience guessing until the very end!
Don’t Tell Mother was written by Monk Ferris and is produced by special arrangement with Samuel French, Inc. The play first premiered at the Horizon Theatre in Burbank California by Character Actors Repertory Theatre Productions in 1984, and was directed by Geoffrey Till.
The production will feature students Merry Brown, Nick Williams, Keith James, Lavon Ware, Jacoby Arradondo, LeChelle Spenser, Brandi Parchman, Shaniqua Ware, Dominique Sills, Khadijah Walker, and Norma Hernandez of Forrest City, and Barbara Martin and Kristi Diggs of Wynne, and Ellen Roberts of Moro.
The public is cordially invited, admission will be $5 and will be available at the door; EACC students are admitted free with a valid student ID. The EACC Fine Arts Center is located at 1700 Newcastle Road in Forrest City.
