Department of Continuing Ed and Workforce Development Announces Summer 2014 Schedule of Classes

Forrest City-The Continuing Education and Workforce Development Department at East Arkansas Community College has announced its Summer Schedule of classes for students of every age.
The schedule offers a wide variety of unique Kids on Campus programs and camps including: Missoula Children’s Theater Camp, Junior Golf Camp, Adventure Camp, ABCs of Gardening, Keyboarding for Kids and PowerPoint Palooza technology camps, Little Scientist, The Big Cut, and Egyptian Dig... Buried Treasure science camps, Slammin’ Jammin’ Guitar Lessons, Play with Clay Pottery Camp, Pre K Picassos, Mosaic Magic, Art FUNatics, and Animal Art art camps, Kids in the Kitchen and Carousel of Cookies cooking campus, Dreamworld Designers and Creative Car Frenzy LEGO camps, ACT Prep, and many more!
Students entering grades 3-5 will lean how to use money, make purchases in a store, and role play as cashiers and bankers while leaning the daily uses for money during Money Matters camp while students entering grades 1-3 tag along with their American Girl doll friends as they explore history, play games, sing songs, make crafts and create friendships that could last a lifetime during American Girl: BFF camp. Boys and Girls entering grades 4-6 will explore Science, Technology, Engineering and Math as they conduct experiments to make lava tubes and slimy worms, play computer games, create projects and explore numbers during Fun, Fun, Fun-STEM Style camp.
The Senior Sage (students aged 50+) and Personal Interest classes for adults include Yoga, Jewelry Making, Drawing, Pottery, Beginning Sewing, Keyboarding, Digital Photography, and more.
The Continuing Education schedule for Professional Development classes include: EMT Basic Refresher course, Paramedic Refresher course, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Refresher course, and Pediatric Cardiac Life Support (PALS) Recertification course. Professional workshops/classes for educators through a partnership with Great Rivers Educational Cooperative will also be offered on the EACC campus this summer.
