Forrest City- East Arkansas Community College is pleased to announce the recipients of the Circle N Markets High School Concurrent Enrollment Grant.  Currently in its second year, the grant was established to provide assistance for high school students who wish to earn college credit at EACC prior to graduation.

The program provides funding directly to area high schools where Circle N Markets are located in eastern Arkansas- St. Francis, Cross, Poinsett, Lee, and Monroe counties. The grant enables students in high school who wish to earn college credit from EACC prior to graduation. The grant is used to offset the cost of tuition, fees and books.

“If a student has applied for the EACC Concurrent Enrollment Program through their high school and has been accepted, they may benefit from the Circle N Grant Funds. The grant assists area high schools by helping to offset the costs of the Concurrent Enrollment classes.” said Niki Jones, EACC Director of Development. “This year, the program has served 225 students from five counties throughout the College’s service region.”

The Circle N Market Grant Program has been funded by Mallory and Carla Nimocks, who believe in the value of higher education. A prior scholarship program was in effect through Nimocks Oil Company, also providing scholarships to concurrently enrolled students. “This is the seventh year Nimocks Oil Company has been able to fund this worthy cause contributing $35,000 dollars through these years towards helping high school students in our region achieve academic success,” said Carla Nimocks.  “Given the academic high school challenges of today, we see the concurrent enrollment grant as a great opportunity and vital tool for youth in our area.”

“We’re excited about the continued generosity and support by the Nimocks family and the Circle N Markets,” said Niki Jones. “EACC is a leader in providing educational opportunities for students in eastern Arkansas, and the Circle N Markets have provided a great way for students to enhance their learning experience during high school while working toward a college degree. Support such as the Circle N Market Grant enhances EACC’s ability to fulfill its mission to area students.”
