Forrest City-East Arkansas Community College has announced the upcoming ‘Season III’ of events to be held in the EACC Fine Arts Center Auditorium. Season ticket packages are now available for purchase at www.eacc.edu.

The EACC Spotlight Series:
Newsboys with Special Guests Building 429 & Luminate
‘God’s Not Dead Tour’
Sunday, September 23, 2012 – 6:30 pm
The GRAMMY-nominated and Dove Award-winning Newsboys have sold close to eight million albums, and garnered five Gold albums and 28 Number 1 radio hits. Best known for their amazing live show including the fan-favorite spinning drum riser, the Newsboys continue as an innovator in the touring arena. With special guests Building 429 and Luminate, this 3-band concert is guaranteed to be an amazing entertainment experience! With multiple awards of their own, Building 429 is currently topping the radio charts, and Luminate is one of the hottest up-and-coming bands touring today.

An Evening with George Jones

Affectionately nicknamed “The Possum”, George Jones has been a prolific singer and songwriter of country music for over 50 years. Throughout his amazing career, not only has he created number one hits that include songs like “Still Doin’ Time”, “The Door,” and “He Stopped Loving Her Today”, but he has also won numerous awards including three Grammy awards and nine Country Music Awards. George Jones is a member of the Country Music Hall of Fame and earned a ranking of number 3 on CMT’s list of the 40 Greatest Men of Country Music. His songs are timeless and still remain relevant even today.

Herman’s Hermits starring Peter Noone / Gary Puckett & The Union Gap Band

Multi-talented singer/actor Peter Noone is well known to audiences worldwide as “Herman” of the 1960s era British pop/rock band, Herman’s Hermits.  The energetic and eternally young Noone encourages concert-goers to sing along to Hermits classics like “I’m Into Something Good,” “There’s a Kind of Hush,” “Mrs. Brown You’ve  Got a Lovely Daughter,” and of course, “I’m Henry the VIII, I Am.”
Gary Puckett, along with his pop band, The Union Gap, helped to forge a series of massive chart ballads with their earnestness and melodrama in the 1960s.  With their Civil War-era costumes and original song lyrics, Gary Puckett and the Union Gap climbed the charts with their smash hits “Woman Woman,” “Lady Willpower,” “This Girl is a Woman Now,” and “Young Girl.”

Twas the Night Before Christmas

Heartwarming and hilarious, this charming Christmas musical is complete with a jolly Santa, reindeer on the roof, moonlight on the snow, Ma and Pa in their caps, and sugarplums dancing in the dreams of hopeful children. Our careworn poet, Clement Moore is struggling to write a Christmas poem. Clement, uninspired until his eyes and heart are opened by the loving, joyous images all about him in his own home and family, begins writing his immortal poem with these words, ’twas the night before Christmas.” His poem is a delight, not only to his family, but to many generations of families who can’t imagine Christmas with­out avisit from St. Nicholas.

Clifford the Big Red Dog – Live!

Rodney Block Jazz Project sponsored by EACC Student Activities
Friday, February 15, 2013 – 7:00 pm
Block, a classically trained instrumentalist, performs a unique blend of traditional jazz, gospel, hip-hop, bebop, funk and soul. An Arkansas native, he honed his skills by playing in some of Kansas City's premier venues – Grand Emporium, Plaza III, Blue Room and Liberty Hall. His ensembles have opened for Jonathan Butler, Claude "Fiddler" Williams, Wynton Marsalis and Angela Hagenbaugh, among others. United States Air Force Concert Band
Sunday – March 24, 2013 - 2:00 pm
This diverse, 45-piece ensemble’s repertoire ranges from symphonic band masterworks, to traditional marches, to modern compositions, to pops and jazz. Concert attendees can expect to hear stirring works from contemporary composers as well as the familiar sounds of John Philip Sousa or Major Glenn Miller. The band also features talented vocal soloists, performing a wide variety of popular, classical, and patriotic selections. Whether performing for a head of state, before a capacity crowd, or for our troops at home or abroad, the Concert Band reflects the heritage and pride of our great nation and the United States Air Force. Tickets to all Spotlight Series events are $35, Family Series events are $12. There is no charge for some special events-see online listings. Season subscription options save up to 20% of the ticket price. The EACC Fine Arts Center is located just off I-40 at 1700 Newcastle Road in Forrest City.
