Forrest City- Students in the East Arkansas Community College training program Troubleshooting Diesel Engines are pictured during the first class meeting in the EACC Transportation and Technology Center. The hands-on class was designed to help those in agricultural settings learn how to perform proper preventative maintenance, diagnose problems, and make minor repairs to most any piece of equipment that depends on diesel, hydraulic, or electrical power. The training program is being offered through the EACC Department of Continuing Education and Workforce Development and is being taught by Brett Hartman, EACC Diesel Technology Instructor.
Additional classes at the Center will include Basic Hydraulics: (February 3 and 10) will focus on basic principles, system components and pressure testing procedures, Basic Electrical (February 17 and 24) will include diagnosis and repair of starting and charging systems and cab electrical systems, Basic Welding: Arc Welding on February 2, 2012 -this module will focus on welding with an electrode (rod) and Wire Welding on February 9, 2012 -this module will focus on using welding with wire using Argon inert gas.
