Forrest City-East Arkansas Community College recently hosted area high school counselors and administrators at the 38th Annual Counselor’s Day held at the East Arkansas Community College Fine Arts Center.
The theme for this year’s meeting was Reaching the Unreachable Child, focusing on better communication and understanding of today’s students.
Faculty and staff at EACC covered topics such as new academic programs, the EACC Honors Program, financial aid information and other financial services, a Say Go College Week report, the Career Pathways program, ADTEP Programs, advising and testing, and scholarships available at EACC.
Josh Hayes, program manager for Arkansas Works, served as the guest speaker.
The attendees were able to earn three hours of continuing education units to use toward professional development credit. The 38th Annual Counselor’s Day was held Friday, October 26th and was presented by the EACC Office of Student Affairs.
