The East Arkansas Community College Family Series presents One Night in Frogtown on Saturday, February 12th at 7:00 p.m. in the EACC Fine Arts Center. The production is a multimedia musical based on the national award-winning musical storybook.
This acclaimed celebration of cultural diversity comes alive through projected animations, a live story reading, animated song lyrics, and riveting live music performances. The different styles of music symbolize the differences between the social groups of frogs, while the pond itself acts as a metaphor for the world. Written and directed by Emmy-Award winning writer and composer Phillip Pelletier, One Night in Frogtown celebrates diversity through music and features Portland All-Stars Linda Hornbuckle, Devin Phillips, Shannon Day, Andy Stokes, Fogatron, Heather Christie, Portland Opera soloist Victor Morris, the No Kidding! choir and more! The musical is the winner of a national Gold Moonbeam Award and the National Gold Ippy Children’s Award.
The production incorporates jazz, hip-hop, classical, rock and R & B musical selections that children will love.
One Night in Frogtown is produced by One World Musical Books of Nehalem, Oregon with tour management by Main Stage Artists Management of St. Louis, Missouri.
The 2010-2011 Family Series has been generously sponsored by Chris and Ginger Quinn and Carey and Anita Vandiver all of Forrest City.
