Forrest City-Student members of Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) honor society at East Arkansas Community College have sponsored a holiday Toy Drive to benefit the St. Francis County Elves, Inc., a non-profit corporation, established to benefit needy children during the holiday season.
The student committee that implemented the project consisted of Morgan Stidham, Carrie Edwards, Leanne Ward, Shellie Hastings, and Barbara Mathis. The group has collected over six boxes of new and gently used toys plus almost $100 in monetary donations.
Phi Theta Kappa is an international honorary society for two-year colleges that bases its acceptance of members solely upon their academic achievement. Scholarship, leadership, service and fellowship are hallmarks of Phi Theta Kappa members. Faculty member, Christy White, serves as the PTK sponsor at EACC.
