Forrest City-East Arkansas Community College has announced the major sponsorship of the upcoming holiday concert, Home for the Holidays, by the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra on Thursday, December 8th at 7:00 p.m. in the Fine Arts Center Auditorium. Home for the Holidays has been generously sponsored by the Oral Edwards family and Food Giant.

“We’re excited to be able to sponsor the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra concert at the Fine Arts Center,” said Steve Edwards, GES President. Our families enjoyed sponsoring the Memphis Symphony concert last year and we were all in agreement that we wanted to move forward with a sponsorship this year too. Bringing this caliber of entertainment into the Arkansas Delta is such a positive way to give back to our customers and to all of the citizens in the area.”

“This is the second year Oral Edwards and his family has sponsored a major Spotlight Series event in the Fine Arts Center,” said Dr. Coy Grace, EACC President. “We were so lucky to have them sponsor the Memphis Symphony Orchestra during the holiday season last December. That show was such a hit with our patrons, and we’ve been asked ever since if there was going to be another seasonal performance in 2011. We’re so pleased to be able to offer the Home for the Holidays performance by the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra this year. Oral, his family, and Food Giant have been huge supporters of the College and especially the Fine Arts Center since it was just a spark of an idea. With their support, we’ve been able to make a huge impact on the cultural landscape of the Delta. We’re so appreciative of this gift to the College and we are all looking forward to an outstanding performance on December 8th!”

The Arkansas Symphony Orchestra is celebrating its 46th season this year. The yuletide concert at EACC will be conducted by Music Director Philip Mann with a special performance by Meshugga Klezmer Band. Violinist Kiril Laskarov will serve as the Co-Concertmaster.

Tickets for Home for the Holidays are $35 each and are available online at www.eacc.edu or by calling 870-633-4480 ext. 352. There will be a 20% discount for groups of 10 or more ($28 per ticket).
