East Arkansas Community College has announced the Summer 2010 Continuing Education and Workforce Development schedule of classes.
EACC offers a wide variety of Kids on Campus classes including Gymnastics (ages 3 – 12+), Adventure Camp at the EACC Adventure Training Center, a variety of Art classes, Yoga, Tennis Camp, First Aid, Pod-casting, Baby-Sitting (earn a certificate!), Handwriting, Self-Defense, and many more.
The Senior Sage (students 50+) and Personal Interest classes for adults include Yoga, Genealogy I, Pottery, Digital Photography, and Microsoft for Beginners.
The Continuing Education schedule for General Professional Development classes include: Facebook, Twitter, and Blogs: Social Media Strategies for Your Business, Healthcare Provider CPR, Basic Digital Photography, Microsoft Word for Law Enforcement.
EACC Tours offers Holiday at the Waldorf on December 6 -10, 2010. Highlights of the trip include visits to Greenwich Village, Wall Street, Tavern on the Green, Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, a Broadway Show, and the Christmas Spectacular at Radio City Music Hall (registration deadline is August 6th).
EACC has partnered with Great Rivers Educational Cooperative to provide many opportunities for Professional Development for Educators. Classes include: Personal Finance, Economics and Children’s Literature, Parental Involvement, Cultural Diversity, Teaching Pre-K Social-Emotional Learning, Food in Arkansas History, Arkansas and Abraham Lincoln, Implementing Reader’s Workshop in 2nd & 3rd Grades, Benchmark Preparation: Understanding the Writing Prompt for 2nd & 3rd Grades, S.C.O.P.E.
