The East Arkansas Community College Family Series will present Giggle, Giggle, Quack! at the EACC Fine Arts Center Auditorium on Tuesday, October 5th at 7:00 p.m. Presented by the touring Dallas Children’s Theater, Giggle, Giggle, Quack will delight children of all ages.

When the farmer’s away, the animals will play! In this hilarious sequel to the barnyard blockbuster, Click, Clack, Moo: Cows That Type, good ol’ Farmer Brown has left his city-slicker brother in charge of his farm while he takes a much needed vacation. He’s left detailed instructions on how to take care of the animals so that nothing will go wrong, including the important warning “Keep an eye on the duck. He’s trouble!” When the instructions fall into wrong hands (or wings), Duck takes the opportunity to do a little re-writing – with a few creative embellishments that result in madcap musical mutiny. Soon it’s pizza for the hen, bubble baths for the pig and movie night for the cow! What will happen when Farmer Brown returns?
This funny and colorful musical for young audiences teaches respect, compromise, and the value of friendship. Giggle, Giggle, Quack is based on the popular barnyard series of books by Doreen Cronin brought to life to by the award winning Dallas Children’s Theater, thrilling audiences of all ages for 26 seasons.
Author Doreen Cronin spent her childhood in Merrick, Long Island and thought she’d grow up to be a police officer or an FBI agent. Instead, she started law school. When her father passed
away unexpectedly, Doreen suspended her law studies and pursued a career in publishing. Soon after her father’s death, Doreen awoke in the night and wrote “Click, Clack, Moo: Cows That
Type.” She knew that it would have made her father laugh, just as she laughed at the funny stories he always told her. In 2001 the book was selected as a Caldecott Honor Book. Giggle, Giggle, Quack! soon followed, and she continues to write humorous stories about Farmer Brown and his animals, including “Dooby Dooby Moo” and “Duck for President”.
The musical stage adaptation of Giggle, Giggle, Quack! premiered at Lifeline Theatre in Chicago, 2005. Fans of the book will delight in the sequel, another expanded, Broadway style
adaptation with a swinging score. Children will recognize themes of cooperation, unexpected surprises, creative expression, and innocent mischief. They will also learn that adults like to
have fun too. Grown-ups will definitely “giggle” along! Giggle, Giggle, Quack! was adapted by James E. Grote. Music and lyrics were written by George Howe. The 2010-2011 Family Series has been generously sponsored by Chris and Ginger Quinn and Carey and Anita Vandiver, all of Forrest City.
