East Arkansas Community College Foundation Scholarships
East Arkansas Community College Foundation offers students the opportunity to apply for a host of academic scholarships available through the EACC Financial Aid Offices. For application information and complete details of each, please contact the Financial Aid Offices. The following brief descriptions are but a few of the scholarships available at EACC:
General Education Scholarship: For full-time sophomores who plan to transfer to a 4-year institution after graduation. Student must possess a 3.0 GPA on all coursework with a minimum of 30 hours completed. Awarded in the fall and spring semesters, the application deadline is May 15th.
Technical Education Scholarship: Awarded to a full-time sophomore in an Associate of Applied Science degree program. . Student must possess a 3.0 GPA on all coursework with a minimum of 30 hours completed. Awarded in the fall and spring semesters, the application deadline is August 1.
Non-Traditional Student Scholarship: Presented to a full-time sophomore who is 25 years of age or older. Student must possess a 3.0 GPA on all coursework (minimum of 30 hours). Application deadline is May 15th.
The Nimocks Oil Company Concurrent-Enrollment Scholarship: Mallory and Carla Morehead Nimocks, in conjunction with Nimocks Oil Company, established the Nimocks Oil Company Scholarship for area high school students who are enrolled in concurrent credit courses at EACC. The NOC Scholarship is designed to offer high school students an opportunity to earn credit towards their high school graduation while earning college credit as well. Application deadlines are May 15th and December 1st.
Eleanor B. and Harry E. Beasley Scholarship: Established in honor of Eleanor B. Beasley, longtime Board of Trustees member at EACC and her husband Harry E. Beasley. Recipients of the scholarship must be graduates of Hughes High School and must be a sophomore with a grade point average of 3.00 or higher. The scholarship will be awarded to students in the Fall and Spring terms at EACC. Application deadline is May 15th.
George P. and Alice H. Walker Scholarship: This scholarship was established in 2004 through the estate of Mildred Sikes, daughter of George and Alice Walker and dedicated to the support of students at EACC pursuing an Associate of Applied Science degree in an Allied Health field. It is expected that these students will become practicing health care professionals and provide care for many others over their lifetime. Awarded to a full-time sophomore student with a minimum 3.00 GPA, the application deadline is August 1st.
The Community Leader Scholarship: Created in 2006 to assist EACC students who have demonstrated leadership skills in their community, the scholarship requires a GPA of 3.0 on a 4-point scale and involvement in projects or groups that focus on community service and volunteerism. Application deadline is August 1st..
The Dr. Ben T. Whitfield Endowed Scholarship: is made possible through the generosity of his wife, Adell Whitfield of El Dorado, Arkansas, who established the scholarship to honor his memory and to show support for education which was such an important part of his life. The Whitfield Endowed Scholarship is dedicated to assisting a first-time entering college student at EACC who plans to attend as a full-time student. Application deadline is August 1st.
Jessie E. Smith Swindle Nursing Scholarship: This scholarship is dedicated to assisting an EACC nursing student from Cross County who plans to attend EACC as a full-time nursing student. The award is $1000 per academic year, based on availability of funds to cover expenses of tuition, fees, books and supplies. Application deadline is August 1st.
