East Arkansas Community College in Forrest City has announced the complete schedule for the upcoming Grand Opening Week of the new Fine Arts Center.

On Wednesday, April 7th at 2:00 p.m. the College will hold a Dedication at the Fine Arts Center. Among the featured speakers will be Governor Mike Beebe as an Honored Guest and EACC President, Dr. Coy Grace as Master of Ceremonies. EACC alumni and former Miss Arkansas, Sara Harris will perform a musical selection. A reception will be held following the ceremony. Music will be provided by Lillian McConnell with the Rose Stone Trio on the harpsichord and piano.  Tours of the facility will be available and the public is cordially invited to the event.

On Friday, April 9th at 10:00 a.m. EACC will offer an ‘Informance’ with The Rose Stone Trio, a nationally-acclaimed group from Tulsa, Oklahoma for area schoolchildren. Over 1,000 students are slated to attend the event. The Trio will introduce the school audience to the harp, harpsichord, and flute during the 40 minute program  and play each instrument separately, explaining how each one works, and when it was "invented". Selections of classical, jazz, and popular tunes will be presented.

At 5:30 p.m. on April 9th EACC will host a catered Pre-Concert Dinner prior to the performance at 7:00 p.m. of ‘The Rose Stone Trio.’ The group brings creative insight and dynamic life to music using the flute, harp and harpsichord. The Trio presents classical, jazz and popular music with a spirited touch. These performances are made possible in part by the Mid-America Arts Alliance that is supported through generous underwriting by the National Endowment for the Arts, the Arkansas Arts Council, and foundations, corporations, and individuals throughout Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma, and Texas. Tickets to the Dinner and Concert may be purchased separately at www.eacc.edu.

On Saturday, April 10, EACC presents “The Temptations’ as the headliner for the week’s events. ‘The Temptations’- members of the Rock n Roll Hall of fame and listed as one of the top 50 bands of all time in Rolling Stone Magazine, have garnered four Grammy awards, 18 #1 Billboard singles, 23 top ten singles and ten top ten albums. With great songs, singers and a live stage show that continues to “wow” audiences around the world, ‘The Temptations’ constantly enlist new fans as they continue to deliver their “Motown” vocal sound that made them famous. “Get ready, ‘because here they come.”
