The East Arkansas Community College Foundation has announced the naming of the Ticket Office in the new EACC Fine Arts Building that opened in April.
“From this time forward, the Ticket Office in the Fine Arts Center will be been named the David and Marsha Cohn Ticket Office after a major donation from David Cohn in honor of his wife Marsha,” said Carla Nimocks, EACC Foundation chair. “The Cohn family has been a continuing supporter of EACC and the Foundation over the years,” said Nimocks. They have been involved in a number of projects with EACC and we’re so excited about this gift. This naming opportunity allows everyone to be reminded of the Cohn’s generosity in a permanent, tangible way.”
“We made this $100,000 donation to the Fine Arts Center because we believe it is now one of Forrest City's greatest assets,” said David Cohn. “It is our desire that our donation in some way can help the people advance in their artistic and theatrical skills. We are happy to be a part of this great institution. I gave Marsha this gift in honor of our recent 25th Anniversary.”
“David Cohn and his family have shown great leadership in this community in ‘giving something back’ to projects and philanthropic endeavors that support eastern Arkansas,” said Dr. Coy Grace, EACC President. “The EACC Foundation’s mission is to transform and enrich the lives of our citizens by supporting diverse cultural, artistic and educational opportunities. The Cohn’s support of the Fine Arts Center in effect, will benefit all who will enjoy plays, concerts, art exhibits and all of the other offerings the Fine Arts Center can provide for education and entertainment. David and his family have been a mainstay in this process and we appreciate all they have done. We look forward to additional announcements about other commitments and naming opportunities.”
The East Arkansas Community College Fine Arts Center includes an Auditorium that seats 1,100, a state-of-the-art Stage, Ticket Office, Orchestra Pit, a Black Box Theatre, a Banquet Hall, and a Gallery for art exhibitions. The building, considered a ‘Class A’ performance center, was designed with ‘flexible seating options’ to accommodate many different seating and table configurations and is able to host multiple venues.
