East Arkansas Community College in Forrest City has announced the College is among a select group of regional presenters chosen to receive a Mid-America Arts Alliance grant. This award will support an upcoming performance by the Rose Stone Trio from Tulsa, Oklahoma at the EACC Fine Arts Center on Friday, April 9th at 7:00 p.m.  The Trio will also perform for area schoolchildren at the Center at 10:00 that morning.
Funding for Mid-America Arts Alliance grants is drawn from generous underwriting by the National Endowment for the Arts, the Arkansas Arts Council, and foundations, corporations, and individuals throughout Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma, and Texas.
Mid-America Arts Alliance, the nation’s oldest regional arts organization, was founded in 1972 to foster cultural growth in heartland communities. Today, Mid-America primarily serves communities throughout Arkansas, Missouri, Texas, Kansas, Nebraska, and Oklahoma, and it develops and delivers arts and humanities programs for a national audience. Mid-America programs attract more than one million people annually in over 300 communities.
“East Arkansas Community College is to be commended for their commitment to serving their community with this distinctive event,” said Mary Kennedy McCabe, Mid-America’s Executive Director. “Audiences in eastern Arkansas will have the opportunity to hear the Rose Stone Trio and Mid-America Arts Alliance is proud to help support this work and East Arkansas Community College.”
