Criminal Background Checks
Prospective students seeking admission to the Associate of Applied Science Nursing Program at East Arkansas Community College should be aware that each first-time applicant for a nursing license issued by Arkansas State Board of Nursing must undergo a state and national criminal background check conducted by the Arkansas State Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The Arkansas State Board of Nursing shall refuse to issue an individual license to practice nursing if that individual has pleaded guilty or nolo contendere to, or been found guilty of any offenses outlined in Subchapter 3, Section 17-87-312, subsection (f) of the Arkansas Nurse Practice Act. Therefore, graduation from East Arkansas Community College, Associate of Applied Science Nursing Program does not guarantee eligibility to take the licensing exam (NCLEX-RN).
